The Hudson Relay
This is a 26-mile relay footrace that commemorates Western Reserve College's 1882 move from Hudson, Ohio to University Circle.
The Hudson Relays is one of Case Western Reserve University's oldest traditions.
It is a 26-mile class relay competition, pitting teams from each class against each other and alumni and grad-pro teams.
The tradition dates back to 1910.
Next spring, when the Hudson Relay will celebrate the 100th anniversary of its inception, perhaps WRA could initiate a special race into Cleveland, or join with Case in reviving the old route between our respective schools. And yes, "the Rock" that was moved into place behind Adelbert Hall in 1910 is still the focal point as the terminus for this historic race.

PESTICIDES
The Third Step
(Pass an Ordinance)
Many cities in Ohio have enacted pesticide laws to protect people and the environment.
The City of Hudson needs to take responsibility for what happens within it's boundaries.
Time to GET ON BOARD Hudson, Ohio.
Beyond Pesticides Healthy Schools Project aims to minimize and eliminate the risks posed by pesticides through the adoption of school pest management policies and programs at the local, state, and federal level, thereby creating a healthier learning environment. Central to this effort are activities aimed at public education on pesticide hazards and efficacy of alternatives, and the continued development of model communities that serve as examples.
Hazardous Chemical Incidents in Schools.
Chemicals that can cause adverse health effects are used in many elementary and secondary schools (e.g., in chemistry laboratories, art classrooms, automotive repair areas, printing and other vocational shops, and facility maintenance areas).
Every year, unintentional and intentional releases of these chemicals, or related fires or explosions, occur in schools, causing injuries, costly cleanups, and lost school days.
